Sports – Dutch Upset Argentina by 6-1 n WHL Final

4th Ranked Netherlands stunned world number 1 and the Olympic Champions Argentina by 6-1 int he final of the Hero World Hockey League semifinal round at the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Center in London’s Olympic Park.  Valetin Verga led the way scoring two superb goals int he first quarter.

Dutch moved like a well oiled machine at t relentless pace througout the match.  Thijs van Dam, Robbert Kemperman, Mirco Pruijser and Thiery Brinkman had a goal a piece.  Argentina late consolation goal came through Matias Paredes.

Earlier, England thrilled a big home crowd with a 4-1 win over Malaysia in the match for 3/4 place.

Harry Martin had a brac; both scored via well worked out penalty corner variations.  David Ames adn Phil Roper shared the two England goals.  Malaysian’s lone scorer was Faisal Saari.

The tp three sides have qualified for the Hockey World League Final 2017 in Bhubaneswar, India Joining Netherlands, Argentina, England andn the hosts India at the event will be the sides finishing in the top four at the other semifinal round of the Hockey World League starting from July 9 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
