Hugh Jackman may have said goodbye to the formidable X-Men franchise with the brutal and meditative Logan but the studio backing this particular superhero venture is no mood to slow down. According to a new report in Deadline, Fox has made ambitious plans for the next installment of X-Men franchise.
Titled Dark Phoenix, the forth film in the revived universe will bring back cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Tye Sheridan and Kodi Smit-McPhee. While they reprise past roles, one major addition could be Jennifer Chastain who is currently in talks to star as the main villain, Shi’ar Empress Lilandra.
Another major development is the fact that Bryan Singer will not be directing this film and is being replaced by Simon Kinberg who has beed a part of the X-Men universe since 2006 having written X:Men The Last Stand. Not just that, but he also wrote and produced X-Men Days of Future Past and X-Men Apocalypse. Set to release in November 2018. the film will go on floor in Montreal very soon and could usher in a different kind of part for the films as Kinberg makes his debut as director.
